John Steger on Intervals

i started off by setting my forces up mostly on the eastern side, about 6 hvy's 4 mobiles (protected by mg's). a few small and 4 med and two large tanks. i put one hvy and 2 mg on the west side to take out the forces on the forts there. let me say i have played this game before and did in fact win on one occasion. i took the town just south of the river on the east side and fortified my forces and used the hvy art and mobile art to take out most of what was being sent to me. i ended up getting reinforcements in the town to the west across the river from the fort. good fortune here. it seems fairly random where the reinforcements show up. i played several games and did not get reinforcements at that location. i was careful to leave the bridges intact on the east side so "earl" would continue to come at me at that location, and he did. after i got my reinforcements i took 4 ac w/mg to the town on the west side and crossed the bridges my engineers had built. earl seeing forces there sent 3 light tanks and 2 ac to take the town. he also targeted my eng and baz i had there with his planes. i had taken out 3 of his planes that were attacking my ma, lost 2 ma's in the process. i was able to get one ac to the fort, after the turn where i got reinforcements on the airfield. earl, being able to target his planes at the begining of the turn unless us mere humans, targeted my ma's i got and ended up taking out all ma's on that side of the map. it is not possible to get any type of mg to protect your forces on the west side of the map. after i started getting reinforcements on the west on a regular basis earl sent 90 percent of his force to that area. i put up a good battle taking out many of his ma's with my few planes, but he finally overwelmed me in the end. after 25 turns the score was human=515 and earl=1590. as far as casualties i took out 1130 of his forces to my 720 lost. i still had 3 hvy, 1 eng, and 1 mg at end of game. he has about 250 points of various forces. it is a very challenging game that depends on alot of luck as to how accurate your hvy and ma are, and of course, getting eng reinforcements in the town by the fort. well worth the time to play.
